Di situ konsekuensi sebagai orang dalam organisasi, bahwa ketika organisasi sudah memutuskan, kita harus mengikuti. Saya tidak mau menjadi juru bicara, saya berkerja di dalam partai dan saya mengambil posisi yang memang tidak terlalu ingin untuk dilihat seperti muncul di televisi, posisi saya lebih administratif. Rilis terakhir yang dikeluarkan Panwaslu tentang hasil rekapitulasi dukungan KTP sementara, dari 496.155 dukungan berkurang hingga tinggal 202.492 pendukung. Hasil ini menunjukan terjadi penyusutan sekitar 50 persen. Terang saja rilis yang dikeluaran panwaslu ditengah proses verifikasi faktual, dimana semua tim masih bekerja keras memantau proses verifikasi, merupakan bentuk pelanggaran etika yang seharusnya tidak terjadi.

"Namun sayangnya, peluang yang ada dengan membuat partai baru, itu malah tertutup karena pemerintah menggunakan cara legalistik untuk mematikan kesempatan partai baru mendapat status hukum," katanya.
Ia menegaskan, pentingnya parpol baru karena partai yang ada sekarang tidak dibentuk oleh anggotanya tetapi oleh penguasa dan pemilik uang. But the seeds of political insurgence have been planted. Three potential candidates have won the public imagination. And imagination is the most powerful political capital. Without imagination, politics is business as usual perpetuating the corrupt political-business oligarchy.

Sri Mulyani mengatakan kedatangannya ke Jakarta karena diundang Menteri Keuangan Agus Martowardoyo. Ia diminta menyampaikan pidato di depan investor perbankan dan menteri keuangan ASEAN. "Hari ini saya mendapatkan kehormatan untuk berbincang dengan bapak presiden disertai beberapa menteri. Ini dalam rangka kunjungan saya ke Indonesia," katanya.
Ia juga membahas kerjasama kemitraan dengan Indonesia. Bank Dunia menilai Indonesia adalah negara dengan tingkat pendapatan menengah dan memiliki kinerja ekonomi serta pengentasan kemiskinan yang sangat baik. "Salah satu yang bisa dicontoh, tentu saja tantangan pembangunan di Indonesia masih banyak. Namun ini tidak mengurangi prestasi yang dicapai dalam menciptakan kualitas pertumbuhan ekonomi dan pemerataan kesejahteraan," katanya kemarin.

Saya hanya penyemangat atau sukarelawan saja. Ini seperti nonton sepakbola, kalau kita ramai-ramai nonton Arsenal, kita tidak tahu siapa yang akan menang, tapi kita dukung. Untuk mengetahui kans itu harus ada aksi positif. Biarlah orang-orang parpol yang menghitung-hitung. Kami menyemangati orang-orang yang tadinya tidak mau tahu politik. Mereka yang tidak mau ikut politik itu bukan pemilih pemula, melainkan orang-orang yang sebel sama politik. Sekarang banyak ikut ngomelin ke anggota DPR, pada saat pemilu nggak ikut milih. The two long-lasting presidents we have had, Sukarno and Suharto, came from neither political parties nor direct elections. They came to power by force. Without such use of power, Indonesia has had a succession of short-term presidents: Habibie, Abdurrahman Wahid, Megawati, and SBY. They all had party credentials but only Megawati was supported by a party with a long history, longer in fact than the New Order. So the choice is between an undemocratic president or a party-captive president. Hardly an appealing choice.
